YouTube AI age verification

So I know about this YouTube AI age verification thing happening and I’ve been wondering how in the world this is going to even work. AI has NEVER worked for moderation purposes so why are we relying on it so much for stuff like this? And the data it’s going off of isn’t very good either.

I haven’t been hit with it yet but I know I will at some point and I don’t know what the future of my channel is going to be. I just hope they realize their mistake, which I’m not too confident about. They’ve already basically said a big fat NO to those who try to call them out for it, so it’s on them to realize it was a stupid thing to do to begin with.

At least I have my search and watch history turned off on top of using Ghostery to block ads, popups and trackers. Y'know, to have as much privacy as possible.

the answer is simple: AI usage = less cash spent
large companies reside on using AI and invest on making it smarter so they do not have to pay employees

but lets be honest, the whole idea of an age verification is completely and utterly stupid, like aren't they aware their security is awful and they have cracks all over the place? one simple hacker is enough to leak millions of ID's and personal info, and at the end of the day, the whole blame will obviously enough be put on YouTube (or who runs YT these days), same goes for the UK censorship

I agree! And that point’s been brought out in videos by people who called them out too! And if YouTube is silencing these people and insisting it’s a great idea, then it all falls into their hands for not listening to their users.
